Our Approach

History

Cal Poly Women's Water Polo is the most successful collegiate club water polo program in the history of women’s competition with eight National Collegaite Championship seasons (2003-2005, 2008-2011, 2017). Following back-to-back-to-back runner-up finishes in the division and nationally over the past four seasons, the Mustangs are primed for the 2018 season to return to the dominance that saw the team run-off nine division crowns from 2005-to-2013.

Practice Schedule

  • The normal season start on the first day of school during Winter Quarter.
  • Our season goes until either late April or late May depending on if the team qualifies for the National Tournament.
  • Season practices are from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday at the Cal Poly Rec Center.
  • Tournaments are on Saturdays and Sundays in various locations throughout California. Everyone on the team can attend invitational tournaments, while league tournaments are exclusive to the traveling team.
  • The traveling team consists of about 14 - 17 people (changes every tournament).
  • OFF SEASON PRACTICE is held on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm at the Rec Center pool starting on September 23rd.
