Our Approach

History

Cal Poly Women's Water Polo is the most successful collegiate club water polo program in the history of women’s competition with eight National Collegaite Championship seasons (2003-2005, 2008-2011, 2017). Following back-to-back-to-back runner-up finishes in the division and nationally over the past four seasons, the Mustangs are primed for the 2018 season to return to the dominance that saw the team run-off nine division crowns from 2005-to-2013.

Practice Schedule

The normal season start on the first day of school during Winter Quarter.
Our season goes until either late April or late May depending on if the team qualifies for the National Tournament.
Season practices are from 6:30pm to 9:00 pm Monday through Friday at the Cal Poly Rec Center.
Tournaments are on Saturdays and Sundays in various locations throughout California. Everyone on the team can attend invitational tournaments, while league tournaments are exclusive to the traveling team.
The traveling team consists of about 14 - 17 people (changes every tournament).
OFF SEASON PRACTICE is held on Saturday mornings from 10 am to 12 pm at the Rec Center pool starting on September 23rd.
